It's a conflict of Emotions!

Okay, so tuesday we had our midterm in Romantic Literature. I probably shouldn't admit that I didn't crack the first book on it to study. But the way I see it, at this stage of the game, either you know it or you don't. Either you've paid attention in class or you haven't. I have. We were given three essay choices, and of course, I picked the one with the political statement because women's rights are forefront on my mind right now, choosing to write about Mary Wollstonecraft (Vindication of the Rights of Women), William Blake (Songs of Innocence and Experience) and William Godwin (Caleb Williams). I am VERY happy to report that Professor Owen awarded me with an A-. YAY! I NEVER get A-'s on anything, much less midterm essay exams. So very excited about that one.

This afternoon I had to take the Praxis I exam for the 3rd time. For those who don't know what the Praxis is... it's like this totally major test that all education majors have to go through and pass before they can be admitted to teacher education at whatever institution they are studying at. Anyways, so I this is the 3rd time I've taken it. The first and second I scored a 167 on my math, 178 on my writing and a 180 on my reading. Which, for all you non-math majors, is 525. According to Georgia Professional Standards for educators, this number is 1 point shy of what I needed... 526. Which sucks! So I was left to take the exam a second time... repeating my math score because, obviously, it was the lowest and therefore the one with the most room for improvement. So I took the Math Praxis again in mid February, hoping that it would be better this time around. Ha. Yeah. Not so much. I scored a 167 AGAIN! Who does that??!! How annoying. I think I would have rathered fail it by 10 points than 1. It was so annoying. So today I went into the testing center to take it again. I PASSED!!! YAY!

So it's been a pretty awesome day so far. And then my class schedule for Summer and Fall got totally screwed when the entire group of British Lit professors decide to teach abroad this semester, leaving people like me who are desperate for that Shakespeare class out in the cold. Maybe I can put it off and study abroad like my illustrious professors. hmm... something to think about.
